Sister U Matter!

Love You

by B.C. Raines on 02/08/19

You know as women, we nurture and take care of everyone; everyone, that is, except ourselves. We generally pour so much into everyone else around us that we have absolutely nothing left to give to ourselves. Today’s post is just a simple reminder: be intentional about loving you. Make it a priority. Be creative with how you love you. Schedule it. No one can love you better than you can love you.

Come Celebrate With Me!

by B.C. Raines on 01/10/19

Happy New Year!!!

I am celebrating a very special milestone—I refer to it as my birth date. No, it’s not the celebration of the day I physically entered into the world. (Although I make a big deal out of that day too; as a matter of fact, I celebrate the entire month-smile.)

The birth date I’m celebrating is my birth announcement to the world, on January 7, 2015, that I am an inspirational writer and speaker. I had been writing privately for years but on January 7, 2015, I formally introduced my writing to motivate, educate and inspire others.

I encourage you to come and celebrate with me. No, I’m not interested in a big party or any recognition, I want you to celebrate with me by daring to “go public” with your talents, dreams, ideas and/or goals. I have to tell you, it is very encouraging to me to know that I am exploring the depth of my writing gift. It has been very gratifying and motivating to actually view and now sell my own published work.

So again, I encourage you to celebrate with me by “going public”. I promise you won’t regret it. Hey, be sure to invite me to the “party” so I can return the favor and celebrate with you. There’s an awesome future waiting for you.

Be Intentional

by B.C. Raines on 01/03/19

Now that we have closed out one year and welcomed a new one, I really want you to set some achievable goals for 2019. You see, for many years of my life, I lived a non-intentional life. I mean there were things that I wanted to achieve but I did not develop a plan or project when I wanted to achieve those goals. For example, in 2002 I started a 30 Things I Want To Do With My Life List. (I think I got this idea from a book I was reading at the time.)

As the name of the list implies, it lists things I would like to accomplish in my lifetime. And that was it…just a list. No, thoughts about when or how… just a list. I guess I was just wandering through life not really understanding that the list was just the beginning and without a plan to execute, the list would only be just words written on a piece of paper.

Are you wandering, just “playing it by ear” or “letting life happen”? (These were some of my favorite anthems of life-smile).

Sisters, be intentional about setting and meeting goals. They are possible. Look at me, I am a published author of a book for which I knew the title in 1999. It took almost 20 years but the goal is met and guess what, there are more goals to meet and set. So, my charge to you regarding your goal setting: Be intentional!

Make Your Christmas List

by B.C. Raines on 12/13/18

When growing up, my brothers and I had to create a list of items that we desired to receive for Christmas. We were given the Sears catalog and told by my parents to write down the items we wanted. Now, we understood that just because we wrote down the items, it was not a guarantee that we would receive them. This list served two purposes: it gave me hope that I would receive at least one thing from the list and it gave “Santa” an idea of what I wanted.

I was reminded of this ritual a few months ago. I was looking through a catalog making my “Christmas list” of items that I desire for Sister U Matter!® You see, the list gives me a visual of my wants and helps me plan.

So, what about you? What are your plans? Your desires? Have you written them down? If you haven’t written them down, how will you know when you’ve accomplished your goals? How do you know in which direction you are headed? There is a scripture, Habakkuk 2:2, that states “Write down this vision; clearly inscribe it on tablets so one may easily read it”.

I encourage you to make your “Christmas list”. Make your plans and desires easy to read and let’s just see what you will receive. Spread the word…Sister U Matter!®
