Sister U Matter!
Down But Not Out
by B.C. Raines on 12/06/18
Well Sisters, it’s been a struggle for me (to put it lightly) these last few weeks. Many of you are not aware that I was involved in a minor car accident in October. Well, the damage to my vehicle was minor but the impact to my body, emotions and mind…now that’s a different story altogether. Let me just say, I have truly been down. No, I mean literally, down!
It’s been difficult to do the tasks needed to keep everything on schedule and moving forward (you know, the everyday stuff) and especially those related the release of my first published book, I Am The Crown. But guess what? I accomplished just about everything that I wanted to accomplish. You see, I was down but not out. I kept focusing on the release of the book and the activities that were planned prior to the accident and that gave me motivation to keep moving.
I’m sharing this with you because I want to encourage you to keep moving forward even when you are down. (And yes, every one of us will be down at some point in our lives.) Sometimes, it felt like the easiest thing to do would have been to cancel all of the events and activities and just give into the pain but I just couldn’t. I had worked so hard and I just refused to be out—to quit. I want you to do the same…refuse to be out. Refuse to quit. Refuse to give up. Refuse to allow the “pain” in your life to distract you from your goals. No, it’s not easy but I promise you that the push through it all will be well worth it.
You see can may be down but you don’t have to be out. Spread the word…Sister U Matter!®
Don’t Wait

Repost
Don’t wait to do what you know you are purposed to do. Take a step, even if it is a very small one. Start today. Start right now. That step could be even as simple as starting to discover what your purpose may be. Our life span here on Earth is so short and unpredictable. We truly can be well and living one moment and the very next moment, not well and/or not even living.
I am encouraging you in this way because I have witnessed (I’m sure you have too) and so many others are experiencing the sudden loss of a loved one. In many cases, the loved one was still so full of expectancy regarding all of the things they would accomplish with the rest of their lives and sometimes with a second chance at life. But suddenly and catching their loved ones by surprise, they leave this world still full of all of the purpose, hopes and dreams that they had come to cherish and anticipate.
Don’t wait. Live your purpose. Tomorrow is not promised. (To be really honest about it, the rest of today is not even promised.) Trust me--there will never be a perfect time. There will never be perfect conditions. There will always be something that seems out of sync but don’t let that stop you from moving forward towards achieving your purpose, your hopes and your dreams.

We Matter Because
by B.C. Raines on 11/08/18
Repost
Sisters, we matter because...
We have purpose.
We nurture.
We invent.
We solve problems.
We develop plans.
We promote peace.
We carry life.
We are beautiful.
We are to be adored.
We are to be adorned.
We are to be loved.
We are to be protected.
We are to be respected.
We are to be admired.
We expect to matter to our boys and men. But do we really expect it from women beings, (my commonly used phrase for girls and women) our sisters? Even more, do we give it to and/or encourage it from each other? It starts with us, you know.

They’re Watching
by B.C. Raines on 11/06/18
They? Who’s they? The world. The world is watching us, the women of the United States of America, especially today. As I listened to the national news outlets last night, this year’s mid-term elections are being called “The Year of the Woman”. It’s predicted that the woman’s collective vote will decide today’s election—for either of the dominate parties—and also there are more women candidates in this election.
Sisters, let’s do our part. Participate in today’s elections. Your vote gives you a voice in our country’s democratic process. Your vote does matter. Your vote does count. Your vote makes you a winner regardless of the outcome of the election because you exercised your right to participate. So many women (and men) before us sacrificed so much for us so we could even have the right to vote.
You’ve already voted? Great! Now encourage others to do the same. “All eyes on us” in my Tupac voice. Sing it with me, “All eyes on us”; “All eyes on us” (Yes, I know his version says me instead of us, it’s the B.C. version.) Come on, one more time, “All eyes on us”. They’re watching us. Yes, today the world is watching us, the woman. Remember…Sister U Matter!®
Sister, You Really Do Matter
by B.C. Raines on 11/01/18
I remind you all the time that you have influence, power and authority. Now, I want to encourage you to exercise it. How? By participating in the November 6, 2018 elections happening all over the country. I’m not interested in who you cast your vote for, I just want you vote. It’s your right.
I know of two recent elections where the woman’s vote decided the outcome: the latest presidential election and the election of the most recent senator from Alabama. Check the stats. Women decided those races. You see, this is one of the ways we can exert our influences. We have a voice and we have power, we just have to use it. Yes, your individual vote does matter and our collective vote chances outcomes. So, on November 6th, participate because Sister, you really do matter and it’s your right!
